Iconic City Journal Mail Art Call Trade thing

On Seth Apter's blog, I've been reading about a journal trade he took part in called "True Colours". Seth and several other artists each had a journal and chose one or two of their favourite colours, and decorated a page in their journal of that colour. Then, the journal was mailed to another artist taking part, who decorated another page or two in the chosen colour. Then it was passed to another artist etc etc until the journal was filled up.

The most recent blog post is here http://thealteredpage.blogspot.com/2010/05/true-colors-sarah-fishburnkeely-benkey.html

Now, adapting the idea - what I would like to do is a similar idea but with Iconic Cities as the "topic". Pick a city - either one that you live in or one you would most like to live in - and fill the journal with icons from that city. (For instance, if you chose London, you could make pictures of Tower of London, London taxi cabs, red telephone boxes, subway signs, street signs, etc) The journal cover, I would suggest is completed by the artist who it belongs to plus maybe the first page. I would also suggest that it is mailed on to the next artist once a month..... given the postal time, that would give each person time to fill the next double page spread with the next image.

Otherwise, anything goes. You can paint, glue, stitch, whatever you want.

Anyone interested in joining in this, please leave a message....!!

What a wonderful idea. Wish I had time to participate but unfortunately I do not.
